I was in NYC one day and saw my music being bootlegged off the street and realized I'd never see a penny of those sales, much like the massive bootlegging that takes place every year overseas since they imported the CD-Recorder in the 1980's. So what I decided to do is to promote a disc that I actually bootlegged. The disc is very well recorded from the Croton Music Festival. Enjoy the 'sanctioned' bootleg!

Recorded in NY and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. It was mastered at the world-famous Sony Studios and is one of his best sounding CD's ever. Features funky vocals by Tonni Smith ("Funkin' For Jamaica") who sounds greater than ever. Also, a hot horn section and of course, remnants of Brazil on this disc. This is a must-have for Baldwin fans.
This disc originally released on 215 Records but went out of business and CSI re-acquired the rights, and now the disc is available!

Recorded in Ipanema and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil pianist Bob Baldwin made a record that really talks to him. Extremely Brazilian influenced makes Brazil Chill an interesting listen as Baldwin combines his Smooth Jazz skills with his fabulous playing and new found musical frontier. One of the big things I noticed, and it was obvious, is the use of vocals on a good many of the songs. It is not outright singing of lyrics, but more samba oriented chants like he uses on "Manhattan Samba" and "I Wanna Be Where You Are" (the only song not penned by Baldwin). I have always found this a great participation tool for the listener and it works here as well. The latter tune is the first radio single and very grandiose in the dynamics of the tune.

When I experienced 9/11 watching TV that day, later that day, I went to the studio and began to re-arrange "God Bless America" for CD101 in New York, and that triggered a series of tunes played in that vein.
