As All About Jazz eloquently described in 2004, "As a contemporary jazz keyboardist, composer, and producer...Bob Baldwin is continually maintaining his status in the music industry as a person to watch." Being that jazz is an oral tradition, it seems only natural that such a prolific performer would choose to record his musical diary on DVD with Memoirs of the Hudson. Delighfully engaging, fans can watch the master craftsman at work in the place he loves the best...LIVE....featuring the Bob Baldwin/Marion Meadows classic, "South Beach", featuring Meadows on Saxophone. Meadows also does a version of "Body Rhythm" that is subtle and beautiful. In the DVD, Baldwin also fuses his NY Latin/Brazilian World Music roots, featuring Chembo Corniel from Puerto Rico on Congas and Bongos and the great Cafe Da Silva from Brazil on Brazilian Percussion, which comes alive on the Baldwin composition "Cafezinho".

Features a 14:00 live version of "South Beach" wth my long-time friend Marion Meadows and the now classic "Ukuphila" (The Healing Song), which has been in the Baldwin set for 6 years and is not finally on record. You will not be disappointed. This CD is personally guaranteed by Baldwin. If you don't like the disc (and you didn't copy it on your computer), we will refund your money if you mail it within 30 days of your order....

I was in NYC one day and saw my music being bootlegged off the street and realized I'd never see a penny of those sales, much like the massive bootlegging that takes place every year overseas since they imported the CD-Recorder in the 1980's. So what I decided to do is to promote a disc that I actually bootlegged. The disc is very well recorded from the Croton Music Festival. Enjoy the 'sanctioned' bootleg!

BOB BALDWIN - "ALL IN A DAY'S WORK" (2005) - CD

FEATURES: DAVE MANN, CAFE DA SILVA, TONNI SMITH.

Recorded in NY and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. It was mastered at the world-famous Sony Studios and is one of his best sounding CD's ever. Features funky vocals by Tonni Smith ("Funkin' For Jamaica") who sounds greater than ever. Also, a hot horn section and of course, remnants of Brazil on this disc. This is a must-have for Baldwin fans.

This disc originally released on 215 Records but went out of business and CSI re-acquired the rights, and now the disc is available!

BOB BALDWIN - "BRAZIL CHILL" (2004) - CD

FEATURES: LEO GANDELMAN, JEFF KASHIWA, CAFE, AZIMUTH, ARMANDO MARCAL - RECORDED IN RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL

Recorded in Ipanema and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil pianist Bob Baldwin made a record that really talks to him. Extremely Brazilian influenced makes Brazil Chill an interesting listen as Baldwin combines his Smooth Jazz skills with his fabulous playing and new found musical frontier. One of the big things I noticed, and it was obvious, is the use of vocals on a good many of the songs. It is not outright singing of lyrics, but more samba oriented chants like he uses on "Manhattan Samba" and "I Wanna Be Where You Are" (the only song not penned by Baldwin). I have always found this a great participation tool for the listener and it works here as well. The latter tune is the first radio single and very grandiose in the dynamics of the tune.

When I experienced 9/11 watching TV that day, later that day, I went to the studio and began to re-arrange "God Bless America" for CD101 in New York, and that triggered a series of tunes played in that vein. I then called my musical associates and we created this tremendous labor of love. It was an honor to do this record, more than any in the collection.

Bob Baldwin goes beyond his signature urban funk jazz style and steps into what he calls neo-jazz on his Narada Jazz debut, which was inspired by the events of 9/11/01. Uplifting, memorable works of art. With Baldwin's natural ability to weave life's experience into his music while creating inventive harmonies, he doesn't really need to fill his releases with high-powered guest appearances.
